About

Laila Razib is a Singapore-based interdisciplinary artist whose practice spans performance, film and painting. Her research explores experiences of womanhood within the Malay community. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Fine Art with First Class Honours from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts–University of the Arts London in 2026.

During her studies, she served as a student representative for her cohort in 2023 and 2024. From 2024 to 2026, her works were presented at the NAFA Open House. Her film work was screened at NAFA’s Grad Expectations 2026 at the Ngee Ann Kongsi Galleries and featured in Downsizing: Interbeing at the Lim Hak Tai Gallery. She participated as a performer in Dance Nucleus’ SCOPE Studio Presentations, 1-min Performances Marathon by July Weber, and in the NAFA Student Collaborative Lab (2025–2026) for Letting Go, a dance film. In 2025, Laila presented performance works in both UAL Chelsea London and in Singapore. Her work has also been exhibited and performed live in Beras Basah (Wet Rice) as part of the Singapore Night Festival 2024, and exhibited in Menagerie: Realms of Possibility at the Photographic Society of Singapore.

Alongside her individual practice, Laila has engaged in collaborative projects, contributing to initiatives by the Women Of:__ Collective and the Pe(ng)lipur Lara Collective. Through these collaborations, she has explored themes of care, storytelling, and feminine experience.

Previously, she graduated from Republic Polytechnic’s Diploma in Media Production and Design where she notably received Module Prize in Interactive Media and Content Development and was inducted into the Director's Roll of Honour in 2019. In 2021, her final year group project was selected as a finalist for Republic Polytechnic’s ‘Symbiosis’ Graduate Show.

Her professional experience includes a role as Programmes, Events, and Outreach intern at Terra SG from 2020 to 2021. She assumed multifaceted roles, ranging from primary video editor and production assistant to serving as a facilitator for sustainability workshops in schools.​
