"Come Full Circle" is a performance and sound art video that delves into my personal dilemma concerning my identity as a Singaporean Malay of Bugis descent. The artwork raises the question of whether I should appreciate her upbringing within the Malay racial category, acknowledging the cultural practices and language instilled in me, or resent the term for contributing to the near-forgetfulness of ethnic groups' identities, such as the Bugis.

 

The performance art, based on the Sigajang Laleng Lipa (Sarong Fight) of the Bugis culture and filmed at Kampong Bugis by the Kallang River, pays tribute to my Bugis ancestors who once settled in this location.
